As part of its consent agenda Tuesday night, the Greene County Board of Supervisors approved funding from ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforement) for the Sheriff’s Office to buy an additional vehicle and equipment.
There was no additional discussion about the item, as the consent agenda generally consists of things that are approved in rubber-stamp fashion.
Sheriff Steve Smith said he believed the new vehicle would not count against his office’s annual retirement of vehicles. He said he would request the normal number of vehicles next month when his office presents its budget for BOS review as part of the Fiscal Year 2027 budget process…
