‘Ready to go’: Virginia wildlife rehabilitation organizations prepare for winter storm

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The winter weather doesn’t break for wild animals, including those that are critically injured, sick, or in need of help.

That’s why it’s all hands-on deck for those who care for Virginia’s wildlife, including the Wildlife Center of Virginia and the Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary.

“Because of the nature of our work, we can’t just stop doing what we’re doing,” said Connor Gillespie, Director of Outreach at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. “We have critically injured and ill patients here at the Wildlife Center that are depending on us for that treatment and care.”…
