Waynesboro restaurant operator guilty, banned from doing business

A former Waynesboro restaurant operator has pleaded guilty to embezzlement, ending a legal tussle that saw him jailed after he failed to turn over taxes he’d collected from customers.

Calvin “Trey” Wilkerson III, 40, of Crozet, ran The Barn Restaurant, located at 408 East Main Street in Waynesboro. The business, first opened across the street in 2022, has since closed.

On Feb. 2, Wilkerson pleaded guilty in Waynesboro Circuit Court to two felony charges of embezzlement. Six felony charges, along with four misdemeanor charges, were not prosecuted…
