CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — The Terps fell to Delaware on Friday afternoon in the Mizuno Classic. Maryland outhit the Blue Hens 10-7, but Delaware came away with the 5-2 win to drop Maryland to 5-8 on the year.
The Terps got after the Blue Hens right away on Friday. Anna McGowan and Mariah Penta both delivered with RBI singles during a five-hit first inning that saw Maryland claim an early 2-0 lead. McGowan’s knock awarded her a team-leading eighth RBI on the season.
