UVA Health’s University Medical Center ranked number one in Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – UVA Health’s University Medical Center has been ranked No. 1 in the state of Virginia.

The rankings came from Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2026 list. UVA received a 70.77%, and was ranked 52nd in the U.S.

“I think it’s our team, all the way from the way they care for our newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit to the patients that they care for in the geriatric clinics,” said John Bennett, Chief Ambulatory Operations Officer for UVA Health. “Our teams are just excellent.
