HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – After more than 60 days of being treated at VCU Burn Center for third-degree burns on over 50% of her body, Andrea Dawn, manager of Strite’s Legendary Donuts, is now back home with her family after a lengthy recovery period in the hospital.
Dawn’s father, Carl Strite, who is the founder and owner of the shop, says Dawn’s recovery is a miracle for the family and wouldn’t have been possible without the community’s support in the Shenandoah Valley.
“It’s overwhelming,” Strite said, “Even to Andrea, she will hear about the community’s support and is kind of just it overwhelms her; she is blessed beyond measure.”…
