Charlottesville City Schools accepting applications for free preschool program

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Charlottesville City Schools is now accepting applications for its free preschool program for the 2026–2027 school year.

The division says the program provides high-quality early learning opportunities for three- and four-year-olds across the city.

Next school year will also bring a major transition. All preschool classrooms will be consolidated at what is currently Walker Upper Elementary. The building will be renamed the Charlottesville Early Learning Center and will serve as the division’s centralized preschool location…
