ROCKINGHAM-COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) – A large structural fire at a poultry farm occurred off Restful Lane in Elkton early Saturday afternoon.
A fire marshal with Rockingham County Fire and Rescue said they were dispatched around 2:30 p.m. after a report of a structure fire involving a chicken house. When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy smoke and flames. The department started suppression efforts.
However, firefighters were unable to stay in front of the fire, and it began to move through the whole building. Firefighters are continuing suppression efforts.
The department had no reports of injuries…
