Albemarle police conduct high-visibility traffic enforcement on Route 29

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – The Albemarle County Police Department announced a high-visibility traffic enforcement along U.S. Route 29 Monday, March 2, targeting driving behaviors that contribute to crashes.

Hundreds of drivers along Route 29 North were the focus of the enforcement effort, which ran for part of the day on Monday.

“Our effort was to combat these poor driving behaviors that may occur on these roadways with an emphasis on the 29 North corridor, the Seminole Trail corridor, mainly because of sheer volume,” said Deputy Chief of Police for Operations Randy Jamerson. “When we look at data, we look at where do most of our crashes occur, and obviously, because of the volume, it is on the Seminole Trail corridor.”…
