Work will allow bridge to carry all legal loads
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced last week it will begin multiple overnight closures of Garth Run Road in Madison County for rehabilitation of the bridge over Garth Run.
The bridge is located 0.6 mile north of Wallace Gap Lane. Garth Run Road will be closed to through traffic during the following dates and times:
- Monday, March 30 through Thursday, April 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Tuesday, April 7, from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Wednesday, April 8, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Crews will remove the existing bridge superstructure and replace it with a new concrete superstructure and asphalt riding surface.
