Math teacher Lori Hoffman may seem like a relatively new face at FCHS, but she has actually been a teacher for 27 years. That changed in 2021, when she retired to take care of her granddaughter.
However, the school soon drew her back, as she returned to FCHS part-time to help students as a math interventionist, tutoring small groups of people to try to help them understand math better. She worked mainly with 8th-grade math and algebra students, tutoring them during WIN and after school.
In September, a math teacher retired, so Hoffman returned to the classroom as a Math 8 teacher. “It was a rough start, but I feel like I have now found my rhythm again,” she said…
