Staunton charges filed after children test positive for meth, pot

A woman under investigation by the Staunton Police Department is facing multiple charges after two young children tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana, according to police.

In January, Child Protective Services notified the police department about a Staunton woman who’d reportedly left the drugs “within reach” of two minors under the age of 5, according to court records.

Following a Jan. 23 welfare check by police at her Monroe Street residence, April E. Palmer, 34, was charged with felony possession of a Schedule I or II drug and two misdemeanors of contributing to the delinquency of a minor…
