ACSO investigating statements about Daikin after rumors of violence

VERONA, Va. (WHSV) – The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office responded to Daikin Applied’s facility in Verona on Wednesday morning after public rumors of violence began to spread.

An ACSO spokesperson told WHSV there was never an active shooter at the facility on Laurel Hill Road, but the sheriff’s office is investigating a certain employee who allegedly made questionable statements. Authorities are working to locate the employee and confirm whether they made the threatening comments, the spokesperson said. It’s unclear at this time whether the person is a current or former employee of Daikin.
