With veteran health coverage halted, Charlottesville woman faced with few options for vital care

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Funding cuts to the Department of Veterans Affairs are impacting a Charlottesville woman living with a rare spinal defect, that her doctors say was a byproduct of her father’s service in the Vietnam War.

Jemel Snyder requires around-the-clock care to live with spina bifida, a debilitating and complex spinal defect. Before July, the Department of Veterans Affairs covered her medical expenses.
