After two years without independent counsel, Charlottesville’s police oversight board has an attorney to represent its interests to the city

After nearly two years without independent legal counsel, the Charlottesville Police Civilian Oversight Board has retained an attorney.

On March 13, PCOB  signed a contract with its new independent legal counsel — Martin Conn, president and attorney at Richmond-based boutique complex litigation firm Moran Reeves Conn.

The Board lost its previous attorney, Pamela O’Berry from Richmond-based law firm Sands Anderson, in April when the City of Charlottesville retained the same firm while then-City Attorney Jacob Stroman was on leave and under administrative investigation…
