Fluvanna County Public Schools Celebrates Carson Raines

PALMYRA, VA – Fluvanna County Public Schools (FCPS) has announced that Carson Raines, a senior at Fluvanna County High School (FCHS), has been awarded one of the two full-tuition scholarships from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg for the upcoming academic year. This highly competitive scholarship recognizes Raines’s exceptional academic performance, leadership, and dedication to service.

Now in its 10th year, Pitt-Greenburg’s full-tuition scholarship competition awards up to three scholarships annually, each valued at more than $54,000. The scholarship covers in-state tuition at the university’s Hempflied Township, PA, campus for up to four years, contingent upon maintaining a 3.5 GPA each academic year.

Raines, who holds an impressive 4.5 GPA, has excelled academically while taking a rigorous course load through the Blue Ridge Virginia Governor’s School, including advanced placement and dual enrollment classes. His academic commitment has prepared him well for the challenges of higher education…
