Nexus executives held in contempt for $811 million owed

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – Michael Donovan and Evan Ajin were held in contempt by the Western District of Virginia Federal Court after an attempted sale of their company.

Donovan and Ajin are Nexus executives who have been in and out of the legal system for both criminal and civil offenses. Back in 2024, Nexus executives were ordered to pay $811 million after attorneys general from Virginia, Massachusetts and New York filed multiple lawsuits in tandem with the federal government. All of these were decided in federal court in the Western District of Virginia.

According to an opinion filed in the court, Judge Elizabeth Dillon, who has been presiding over many of the Nexus cases, said the sale of Nexus to Libre Immigration Services a month after the civil judgement was against the original terms set by the judge. In the original terms, Nexus’ executives were not allowed to share any information they’ve collected through their business practices.
