SHENANDOAH, Va. (WHSV) – Virginia State Police is investigating a multi-vehicle crash that happened last Thursday on Route 340 in Shenandoah, shutting down the road for hours and sending three people to the hospital.
The crash happened at 2:23 p.m. Thursday on Route 340, just north of McDaniel Lane, when a Toyota Tacoma truck was driving south and crossed the center line to avoid two cars making a left turn, according to a VSP release. The truck then “abruptly crossed back” across the centerline to avoid a tractor trailer that was traveling north, which VSP said caused the truck to hit a Subaru Legacy sedan. The impact then pushed the Subaru into the northbound lanes, where it was hit by the tractor trailer. The Tacoma truck also hit another nearby pickup truck, VSP added.
Two people were airlifted from the scene, and a third person was taken to a hospital by ambulance, VSP said…
