Waynesboro woman arrested on multiple counts of forgery

WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — An area woman was arrested this week on multiple forgery related charges in the City of Waynesboro.

On April 21st, Captain Benjamin Lemons said authorities began investigating reports of suspected fraud after several checks from a stolen checkbook were cashed within the city.

“The Officer’s investigation, along with information from the victim and their financial institution, revealed that Brittany B. Griffith, 36, of Waynesboro, allegedly used several of the victim’s checks without their permission to fraudulently obtain more than $1,000.”…
