A passenger traveling through Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport has sparked online debate after paying nearly twenty dollars for what she described as a severely underwhelming portion of avocado toast. The traveler shared a photograph on social media showing a single piece of barely toasted bread topped with green spread and one strip of bacon — far from the menu description promising toasted sprouted bread with avocado, extra virgin olive oil, bacon, and crushed red pepper.
The pricing discrepancy has added confusion to the complaint. According to the airport’s current online menu, Tailwind restaurant in Concourse C lists avocado toast at seven dollars for one slice or just over eleven dollars for two, with bacon as a two-dollar add-on. The menu describes the dish as smashed avocado spread with salt, crushed red pepper and tomato on wheatberry toast. How the final bill reached nearly twenty dollars remains unclear.
