Chickamauga Council to Consider $2 Million Grant Application for Major Road Project

The Chickamauga City Council will consider applying for $2 million in state funding for a project aimed at improving roadway safety, water service and stormwater infrastructure along Lee Gordon Mill Road.

The matter is the only item of new business on the agenda for the council’s meeting Monday, Aug. 17, at 4 p.m. The meeting will be held at 1817 Lee Clarkson Road in Chickamauga.

The proposed resolution would authorize the city to apply for a grant through the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank. The project would focus on Lee Gordon Mill Road, including its intersections with Wilder Road, Crittenden Avenue and Five Points Road…
