CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga’s Hefty ReNew recycling program will end in June 2027, with city leaders citing a lack of buyers for the collected materials.
In a statement released Friday, the city says the program is ending because there are not enough buyers for the materials.
The city thanked residents who participated in the program, as well as Hefty, and says the partnership helped divert more than 165 tons of plastics from local landfills.
All Hefty ReNew materials will continue to be collected through June 30, 2027.
After that date, residents who still have unused orange bags can contact Hefty for returns and refunds…
