River City Company campaign raises more than $25 million for Riverfront project

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — River City Company says it has raised more than $25 million in private donations for planned improvements to Chattanooga’s riverfront parks near Ross’s Landing.

The nonprofit economic development organization is leading the Riverfront Parks Next project, which is also backed by $15 million from the state of Tennessee, $5 million from the City of Chattanooga and $5 million from Hamilton County.

The nonprofit says the parks will be transformed into “a family-friendly, year-round riverfront park corridor that invites residents and visitors to enjoy the Scenic City’s intimate connection to the Tennessee River”. It includes two new restaurants, sports courts, public art, an improved pier and infrastructure for waterfront recreation.
