CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A sanitary sewer overflow continues to send an estimated 500,000 to 700,000 gallons of wastewater into South Chickamauga Creek as Chattanooga crews work to contain it.
City officials say aging infrastructure installed in the early 1970s is likely responsible, while paddlers warn the contamination could create additional concerns for people using the creek.
