Hamilton County readies rescue aid for Isaias: Red Cross and TVA take storm precautions

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — As Hurricane Isaias tracks toward landfall in the U.S. Friday, agencies and businesses across Hamilton County and the surrounding region are preparing for potential impacts, from flooding concerns to possible emergency response needs.

Hamilton County officials say preparations are underway in case conditions worsen.

Amy Maxwell with the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security says stronger-than-expected wind gusts could lead to additional steps.

“If we see that the wind gusts are going to be even stronger than we anticipated, that could possibly activate our emergency operations center,” Maxwell says.
