LAFAYETTE – A no-hitter from Sam Landry and two clutch swings from Jourdyn Campbell highlighted a Friday sweep for No. 21-ranked Louisiana Softball in the 38th Annual Louisiana Classics at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park.
Landry (6.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 5K) retired the first 13 batters she faced and was a hit batter and one miscue away from a perfect game in the Cajuns’ 8-0 (6 inn.) run-rule win over Pac-12 member California to start the day.
Campbell’s first impact swing came in the sixth inning, a pinch hit grand slam that allowed Louisiana to walk-off the visiting Bears (2-1).
