The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) is planning for its 2024 UTC Spring Research and Arts Conference. The event, set for Wednesday, April 10, is coordinated by the Office for Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavor (URaCE). It offers a chance for UTC students, faculty, and staff to share their research or creative work. The event was changed to a one-day conference in 2023, previously known as ReSEARCH Dialogues.
URaCE Executive Director Lisa Piazza shared her positive outlook for the event, noting its wide range of opportunities for students. She mentioned a successful class visit program from the previous year, which she hopes to continue. Over 300 UTC students attended last year’s event. To present or perform, registration forms must be submitted by 11 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25.
The conference will include different presentation formats, such as poster presentations, art displays, oral presentations, panel discussions, and performances. Community college students and community partners are also welcome to present. Olivia Ziemer, a sophomore physics major and Brock Scholar from Tigard, Oregon, will be among the presenters. Ziemer will present her award-winning poster on E. Coli Suspensions and Antibiotic Resistance.
