Well, we have officially entered the 2024 election season. Here are the nuts and bolts of the process so far this year. Our first election is on March 5, with Early Voting starting Feb. 14, and finishing Feb. 27. There are two Early Voting locations, Plainview Community Center in Tracy City and Altamont City Hall, Room 3. These two locations will be open from 9-4 p.m., Monday – Friday, and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon. Then, on March 5, we will all head to our own precinct on election day. The polls will be open from 8-7 p.m. If you can’t remember which precinct you are in – there are 10 – you can call the Grundy County election office or visit GoVoteTN.com, where you can find your polling location and ballot all in one spot. If you want to watch the Grundy County election results in person at the courthouse, the first precincts start rolling in around 7:30 p.m. We usually have a jovial bunch hanging out on election night, so bring snacks to share.
