Update: Father now indicted, mother now charged in Collegedale infant’s hot car death

COLLEGEDALE, Tenn. — Six months after an infant girl died after spending hours in a hot car in Collegedale, a grand jury has indicted her father, and police announced new charges for her mother.

Back on August 12th, officers in a school zone saw Timothy Paul Blackdeer speed by them. They stopped him, and found his daughter in his arms.

Police say Blackdeer left Violet unattended while he worked at a nearby construction site. He discovered his baby girl in his car at lunchtime, as outdoor temperatures soared to the upper 80s.

This week, a Hamilton County Grand Jury indicted Timothy Blackdeer on first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse and neglect for his daughter’s death.

Violet’s mother, 32-year-old Catelin Danielle Blackdeer, now faces criminally negligent homicide charges, Collegedale Police also announced on Friday…
