On Tuesday morning, a commercial structure fire broke out at Highway 41 Auto in Tracy City. Due to the nature of the building—an active auto repair shop—the fire posed serious risks, including fuel, oil, compressed gases, and other combustible and explosive materials, as well as the oil change pits. The building was heavily damaged.
Four fire departments reported to the fire scene: Monteagle, Tracy City, Sewanee, and Coalmont. Other agencies that responded to the location included Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative, Tracy City Police, Matt Griffith with Grundy EMA, and Constable Kyle Collins, who worked together quickly to contain the fire.
