Chattanooga city council considers ordinance to allow backyard hens within city limits

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga city council is considering an ordinance that would allow people to keep chickens on their property within city limits.

The ordinance comes with several restrictions. According to council documents, people would only be able to keep egg-laying hens.

No roosters would be permitted, and they would only be allowed to keep eight female chickens.
