CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — A stretch of banks along the Tennessee River in Chattanooga is in danger of eroding, and that could affect a crucial nearby piece of infrastructure.
Now, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wants to hear from you about how to fix it.
The proposed project would stabilize a 1,900-feet stretch of eroding streambank along the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, across the way from the Hubert Fry Center along the Tennessee Riverwalk, and just downstream from the C.B. Robinson Bridge.
The erosion is advancing toward a pumping station and wastewater line that serve northern Chattanooga, according to a release from the Corps.
