Some Chattanoogans fear 9-month closure of riverwalk section will create safety issues

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Not everyone in Chattanooga’s outdoor community is happy with the city’s decision to close a section of the riverwalk for 9 months.

Some residents fear it could hurt their weekly routine in the area and create safety issues.

The work is centered near the South Broad district and the construction of Erlanger Park, the new home of the Chattanooga Lookouts.
