Chattanooga police make arrest in connection to double homicide that left two people dead five years ago

Chattanooga, TN – On July 29, 2025, the Chattanooga Police Department’s Fugitive Unit, with help from the Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested 30-year-old Khavell Mailik Williams in connection to a 2020 double homicide.

Williams was charged with two counts of first-degree murder related to two separate shootings that occurred on December 1, 2020.

According to investigators, a 61-year-old man was shot and killed outside his home in the 1700 block of South Kelly Street earlier that day. That evening, a 66-year-old woman was shot and killed at her residence on South Willow Street, just a few blocks away…
