Tennessee-based construction firm addresses viral confrontation at North Carolina landfill

HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. — A construction firm based in Bradley County, Tennessee says it’s “appalled” at what it calls a “disturbing” viral TikTok video that shows one of its workers confronting a truck driver at a landfill in western North Carolina.

Wright Brothers Construction Company, Inc. says in a message on Facebook that the employee featured in the video has now been placed on leave, and that it’s hired an independent investigator to get to the bottom of what happened. (Scroll down to read the full message).

Our employee’s behavior does not reflect our company values and is contrary to our longstanding policies of professionalism and respect,’ the Facebook post says. ‘Regardless of circumstances, threats, hateful language, and discrimination are not permitted within our company or on our projects. We are initiating additional training for all supervisory personnel focused on conflict resolution, respectful communication, and maintaining professionalism in difficult situations.
