TN Mayor Proposes $2.8M for Fire and EMS Services

Hamilton County (TN) Mayor Weston Wamp has proposed a $2.8 million grant for projects supporting the county’s first responders. According to a local3news.com article, the money would go to the Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services (HCEMS) along with the volunteer fire departments.

According to Mayor Wamp’s office, the break down for EMS is as follows:

  • $1.7 million toward four new ambulances
  • $92,000 for an ambulance training simulator
  • $100,000 for completion of Administration & Training Center
  • $127,000 for generator at Administration & Training Center

In addition, approximately $823,000 will go toward seven volunteer fire departments. Most of the funds will provide new apparatus and replacement hose. Mayor Wamp shares that “safe communities are the foundation of a thriving county,” hence the investments in EMS and volunteer fire departments…
