FedEx Supply Chain to lay off 611 in Tennessee

FedEx Supply Chain, according to reports filed with the state of Tennessee, will lay off 611 workers by October 11. Local news site Tennessee Lookout reports that both sites in Memphis, Tennessee are distribution centers for the automotive parts manufacturer Cummins, which is moving its distribution operations to Indianapolis, Illinois.

Reports from earlier this month indicate employees were informed of layoffs earlier this month.

According to a statement from the company reported by local news, FedEx Supply Chain indicated it would retain “a portion of the business” at the location and that some of those laid off will be “eligible for other roles within the company.”
