CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — Officials with Chattanooga’s Department of Public Works say repair of a large sinkhole near the GPS athletic complex could take up to 6 months, after crews discovered more extensive damage underground.
The sinkhole on Heritage Landing Drive created safety concerns for nearby residents, who say the area sees hundreds of cars each day.
After an extensive camera inspection of the underground drainage line, CDOT says city engineers discovered the damage is more widespread than initially estimated.
