Cleveland State Community College mistakenly sends student info to collection agency

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Cleveland State Community College is reaching out to over 300 students after mistakenly providing their names and contact information to a collection agency.

The students, who were contacted by the agency, were mistakenly included on a list of individuals with outstanding balances.

The affected students were among more than a thousand who participated in dual enrollment courses with the college last year.

Cleveland State is actively working with the collection agency to cancel the collection actions to ensure that the credit records of students and their families remain unaffected…
