Chattanooga Police Department celebrates graduation of 14 cadets

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) has announced the graduation of 14 cadets from its rigorous 22-week training program. This milestone marks the culmination of a comprehensive curriculum that exceeds POST requirements and aligns with CALEA standards, ensuring the highest level of professional training.

The CPD academy, one of only four in Tennessee, provides specialized training tailored to the mission, values, and skills necessary to serve the Chattanooga community effectively. Cadets receive instruction in cultural diversity, firearms proficiency, constitutional law, emergency vehicle operation, and scenario-based exercises aimed at enhancing officer safety and community trust.
