Prentice Cooper State Forest and Wildlife Management Area, located on the north side of the Tennessee River Gorge, is a popular destination for a variety of outdoor recreation activities, including hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, off-roading, hunting and more.
A number of managed deer hunts are held during the fall. On these dates, the area west of State Highway 27 (Suck Creek Road) is closed to all visitors except licensed hunters. The area east of State Highway 27, Edward’s Point, remains open to visitors.
