Woman charged with manslaughter under Alabama fentanyl law

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. — A woman from Trenton, GA is in jail in DeKalb County, Alabama, charged with Manslaughter-Fentanyl in the death of Kimberly Ann Little.

In Alabama, a person can be charged with Manslaughter if they “Knowingly sell, furnish, give away, deliver, or distribute a controlled substance in violation of Section 13A-12-211, which contains fentanyl, any mixture containing fentanyl, any synthetic controlled substance fentanyl, or any synthetic controlled substance fentanyl analogue, and the person to whom the controlled substance is sold, furnished, given, delivered, or distributed dies as a proximate result of the use of the controlled substance.” The law does not apply to licensed healthcare professionals in their line of work…
