CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — The City of Chattanooga has agreed to settle in a federal lawsuit filed by the family of a man who was shot 14 times and killed by police at a Speedway gas station in August of 2023.
The city agreed to pay $180,000 to the five children of Roger Heard.
In August 2023, Roger Heard, Jr. was shot and killed by officers at a gas station on East 3rd Street as those officers were trying to serve an arrest warrant on him.
