WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — Historic Prater’s Mill, a landmark since 1855, is facing an uncertain future thanks to the realignment of a nearby creek.
The creek’s course changed after several heavy rain events in April 2024, leading to the drying out of the mill pond that powers the corn mill during the annual Country Fair.
And that has altered the water supply crucial for the mill’s operation.
