Tennessee lawmakers consider changes to state assessments amid growing frustration

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — School assessments continue to cause frustration in Tennessee schools, not only for parents and students, but teachers as well.

Now, state lawmakers says they’re looking to make changes to those assessments.

Back in May, as Hamilton County Schools worked on their budget, concerns surrounding the amount of student testing resulted in one less benchmark test.
