On Friday, Chattanooga will hold a three-volley salute during a memorial service for the 2025 Medal of Honor Celebration Convention. The Tennessee National Guard’s 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment Fires Squadron will fire blank rounds from ceremonial cannons next to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 305 West 7th Street, according to the Tennessee Military Department.
A ceremony to honor fallen service members will take place at around 10:20 a.m. Tennessee’s official website says a 20-soldier team will use three 75mm M116 Howitzers. Each gun will fire separately, with a 3–5 second pause between shots.
