CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga has reached a milestone in the construction of 2 large domes alongside I-75. The city says the structures are part of a multi-million dollar project that will help prevent sewer overflows and protect local waterways.
The e2i2 project is a part of the broader Clear Chattanooga initiative following the U.S. EPA consent decree.
It consists of the construction of two wet weather equalization stations that will store approximately 40 million gallons of excess wastewater during heavy rain events.
