On Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 7:55 p.m., Haletown Fire and Rescue was toned to I-24 eastbound mile-marker 158 for a semi on fire.
Jasper Fire and Kimball Fire Departments responded for mutual aid along with Fire Rehab Services.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the tractor fully involved and spreading to the trailer. They immediately began suppression operations of the fierce fire. The blaze had managed to enter the trailer, and the roof had collapsed. This made suppression efforts difficult, as they had to vent the roof and sides to make an entrance.
