ETSU is grappling with quarterback injuries as they prepare for Saturday’s game against Chattanooga. Head coach Will Healy has not ruled out Jake McNamara or his brother Cade, but freshman Jackson Bird, the fourth-string quarterback, may need to step in.
“I don’t know that I would sit here and expect for us to be prepared to play our fourth quarterback, but that’s where we are, and Jackson’s got to be ready to roll,” Healy said. Healy noted that Jake McNamara was feeling better and participated in some activities, but his status remains uncertain. “We’ve got to be smart as a staff, of making sure, regardless who plays, they’re going to have limited reps this week,” Healy added.
