Update: About 20 people displaced after massive 2-alarm fire at East Ridge apartment

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. — UPDATE:

East Ridge Fire Department officials tell us that no one was hurt after massive flames engulfed an apartment complex in East Ridge early Thursday, and estimate about 20 people lost their homes in the fire.

Arriving firefighters found flames shooting through the roof at the Germantown Gardens just before 5 a.m., and immediately worked to ensure everyone got out safely, according to East Ridge Fire Chief Mike Williams, though he did say there were some pets still unaccounted for…
